Clean beauty can often garner a bad reputation. There are many misconceptions, and we're here to clear some of those up!
It's often thought that "clean beauty" is the weird-smelling, only-used-by-yogi's products that you could only buy at Whole Foods. Times are a changin' folks! In this day and age, clean beauty brands can work just as well if not better than other beauty brands. And, the benefits they offer make it impossible to say no.
The amount of harmful chemicals that can be put into your favorite beauty brands' products are unreal- and incredibly damaging to your skin. A lot of the chemicals used in today's products have shown to cause potential health problems if used over a period of time.
In order to keep your skin looking and feeling as good as possible, it's important to research each and every product that you put onto your skin. We know you're all busy being boss babes, so we've cut down your research time and are telling you all about our favorite clean beauty products below!
T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum: Be prepared to wake up looking like a new woman if you use this. It's seriously that good! This serum works while you sleep to dissolve dead skin cells and resurface your skin for a clear and hydrated complexion when you wake. This brand is also paraben and cruelty free, to boot.
Josie Maran: This company has always been on the forefront of the argan oil game, and their tagline is "Luxury With a Conscience." Josie has made it her mission to use plant-based oils and extracts to provide her customers with a luxury product that is naturally sourced. Our favorites from her line are the Argan Cleansing Oil and the Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter.
Tata Harper: This line is one of a kind. Tata Harper works with botanists and medical practitioners all over the world to create a skin-care line full of natural and non-toxic ingredients designed to make you look even more beautiful! There are between 9 and 29 active ingredient inside every product they produce, and they manufacture everything themselves to ensure quality. One of their most popular items is their Concentrated Brightening Serum, which helps to reduce dark spots and brighten overall complexion.
Jane Iredale Magic Mitt: Our friends over at Premier Dermatology have the coolest makeup remover that requires only water. The Jane Iredale Magic Mitt is a micro-diner cloth mitt that removes all makeup using only water - you can't get more organic than that!
Khlorane Dry Shampoo: As girls, we know that you rely on dry shampoo to get you through the week...and the weekend. Finding a good dry shampoo can be life-changing, and Khlorane has got your back in this department! The oat milk used helps to strengthen the natural balance of your hair, and is perfect for every hair type.
Hairstory: This brand is an up and comer, but we have no doubt that it will soon be sweeping the nation. Michael Gordon, who is the founder of Bumble and Bumble, grew tired of all of the available shampoos on the market. Each and every one is full of chemicals that strip the hair of its' natural oils - a big no-no. This led him to create Hairstory, a brand that simplifies shampoo and all things hair-care. Try their New Wash shampoo, which is a one-step solution to wash, condition, detangle, and repair your locks!
Glossier Haloscope: If you haven't heard from this company yet, where in the world have you been?! Glossier has quickly taken the world by storm, and the waitlist for their products has been known to hold up to 60,000 (!!!) names. Their most popular product is the Boy Brow, which is always waitlisted, but the newly-launched Haloscope might give it a run for it's money! On top of all these great products, the brand is all-natural - always a plus!
EcoTools: After we've talked about all of these fantastic beauty products, we have to give you something to apply all of them with! EcoTools started with two sisters whose mission was to create a brush set that was as eco-friendly as it was high-quality. The brand is cruelty free and only uses recycled materials to create their products. Our personal favorite from their line is the 6 Piece Day to Night Brush Set, because it has every brush you might need, and it's under $15!
Lavanila Deodorant: Deodorant can be a tricky to find one that works, but then once you do find that special one, you can't part ways with it! Lavanila is an office favorite. Most natural deodorants typically don't work as well as the ones that include aluminum, but this one WORKS, and it won't leave any harmful toxins in your body.
Florescent Perfumes: This perfume smells heavenly, and you can pronounce all of the ingredients, which makes you feel that much better about putting it on your body! Gateaux is our personal favorite scent around here. Even better, this company was founded by Susannah Compton - a dear friend Leslie has known since middle school.
Grapefruit & Blood Orange Sea Salt Scrub: Glo Limited has done it again with their new brand, Cottage Green House. The line is a favorite of Oprah's (and ours), and is formulated with 99% natural ingredients. Our pick is this sea salt scrub, which will leave your skin feeling like butta. Visit Glo and tell them 3W sent you for this amazing scrub!
