Proud to be a Cougar!

Today is such a fun, exciting day at The New School! My daughter, Willa, is in her second year there and we absolutely love it. As a parent, I can’t tell you how much we love this place. Going to school each day brings not only the best education, but enthusiasm. Truly.

The New School held an all school assembly today to honor the 8th graders. Each age/grade level presents a gift (song/dance/drawings, etc.) to them during convocation. I have to say, Dennis Chapman, Head of School, had the best gift! He introduced Newton, the school’s new Cougar mascot! Of course, Newton’s jersey is #71 to honor the year The New School was founded - 1971.

Plus, this is the first year the school has had cheerleaders (girls in grades fifth to seventh). It brought back so many great memories of pep rallies with an auditorium full of energetic students while cheering on the Cougars! {Ironically, my high school mascot was a Cougar too.}The celebration continues all day with the annual Fall Festival where parents can come enjoy treats and mingle with their children and other families. Talk about school spirit! Go Cougars!
